Sun StorEdge Complete Storage Solutions is a complete range of scalable storage products optimised for Sun’s servers, while supporting heterogeneous environments.
The range builds on key products, partnerships and initiatives announced in 2001, including the Sun Fire 15K server, Sun ONE software platform and Sun StorEdge 9900 series.
Sun’s expanded storage offerings now include: Storage ONE, Sun’s architecture to provide an open, integrated storage management family; Sun StorEdge QFS and SAM-FS software, which deliver scalability to 252+ TB and complete file sharing in a SAN; and StorEdge Availability Suite, which offers point-in-time copy and remote mirroring capabilities.
The Sun StorEdge 3900 series is suitable for clustering and focused application environments such as high performance computing (HPC) and decision support systems (DSS). For midrange consolidation, the Sun StorEdge 6900 series is available and provides an integrated storage virtualisation system optimised for the Solaris Operating Environment. The Sun StorEdge L6000 tape library and support for director-level switches from Brocade, McData and Inrange, is an enhancement of the StorEdge 9900 series.
