Harvey Nash, the technology recruitment specialist, has been running its annual technology survey for several years now, but for the 2017 round, it has developed personalised responses for participants, via a detailed report, illustrating how they fit and compare with peers on a broad range of topics, from salary to skills development.

The company said it sought to further utilise the vast amounts of data captured to create a more valuable experience for those who take part in the survey. This has created “a unique data sandpit for technologists”, who can now directly interact with the data, contrasting and comparing the information however they wish. The report focuses on five key areas: future technologies, big data, privacy, future skills and salary.

The benefits to participants are that they get to see what their peers see as the most important technologies for their business today, and what they expect to play a significant role in the coming years, as well as the skills they are acquiring to tackle these new areas. Harvey Nash said that the survey sheds light on the measures tech professionals around the world are taking to advance their careers, from learning new technical skills to getting involved in innovative projects, with the new facilities allowing participants to see how they match up to your peers.

Salary comparisons will also be of note to tech pros, with historic as well as current data from which to work.

There is also an insight for innovation as participants are quizzed on innovation within their own organisations, which then gives basis for comparison with others across the UK, Europe, America and Asia, with the same opportunity around big data and data utilisation.

The survey is still open, but closes Friday 19 August 2016.
