TechPro in association with Host in Ireland wants to gauge Irish attitudes to hosting digital assets in and whether technical professionals, and the companies with a base here, are aware of the country’s capabilities in this increasingly important area.

Digital assets are defined as any information or data that is transferred via public or private networks and stored within a data centre, co-location or other facility.

The Host in Ireland Initiative is looking to build on the findings of a report from the 451 Group entitled Ireland: A Highly Attractive Location for Hosting Digital Assets which highlights five key advantages (‘five Ps’) of using Ireland as a hosting destination: policy, people, pedigree, pipes and power.

According to the report, Ireland fulfils all five criteria through its political stability; talented multi-cultural workforce; established record in attracting tech companies; high-quality connectivity infrastructure, including redundant networks, big bandwidth capacity and a mature data centre market; and significant investment in renewable energy and smart grid technology.

This understanding of how to meet industry needs proves Ireland’s ability to offer global companies the necessary supports for hosting digital assets to service and develop their operations across the EMEA region.
