As we move into 2017, fast, convenient and efficient work practices will continue to be priorities for both businesses and employees. In 2016, we saw smart technology in the office really take off, supporting these priorities but executives will now be thinking about how said new technologies can enable them to gain greater operational efficiencies.

With the General Data Protection Regulation coming into effect from May 2018, security will be rising on the list of priorities for businesses. Protecting documents in terms of both management and printing need to be considered otherwise the risk of data breaches and leaked documents becomes significantly higher. There are services and solutions available which can help businesses to secure their document workflows online, however a whole new risk occurs once those documents are printed.

In 2017, we are expecting to see further technological advances, which will help to protect and secure information from the start of the workflow, right through to the paper copy at the end.

Giving employees an enhanced ability to stay mobile, and having the necessary security precautions in place will likely become a key focus for businesses in 2017 as it gives employees the flexibility that they need, while being as efficient and secure as possible.
