IBM’s ThinkPad X30 is an ultraportable notebook that uses patented power management technology and a design that increases battery life to eight hours.

The 1.6kg portable is designed to be able to use two batteries at the same time: One internal and one optional extended life battery that easily attaches to the bottom of the system.

It comes with IBM’s innovative Access Connections wizard, which lets users manage wired and wireless connections, and to switch from one location to another.

Selected models have integrated TCPA-compliant security, a combination of hardware and downloadable software, helps protect user authentication and both wired and wireless communications. IBM Rapid Restore PC is a disaster recovery feature that recovers previously saved data after a software crash with one press of a button.

Select models of the new X30 series offer integrated wireless networking, including built-in Cisco Aironet Series Wi-Fi technology and security. Others come with Intel PRO/Wireless LAN technology.

All notebooks in the range are equipped with ImageUltra, IBM’s patented image management technology that reduces the multiple images an IT manager needs to handle.
