Hot property: The Offaly firm already operates in Canada

Offaly firm ATSR has signed a €3.74 million partnership agreement with Ohio-based Ferno Washington Inc, a provider of products for the professional emergency, mortuary and healthcare sectors.

The multi-year deal, facilitated by Enterprise Ireland’s New York office, marks ATSR’s US market debut. The firm already operates in Canada.

ATSR, based in Tullamore, Co Offaly, designs and makes communications and control systems for emergency vehicles, including ambulances and fire-engines. Ferno will market ATSR’s technology under the Acetech North America brand name. The Acetech solution is claimed to increases vehicle efficiency, cut fuel consumption, and give fleet managers greater overall control of their fleets.

Eric Gallagher, CEO of ATSR in Ireland, said of Ferno: “Our companies share the same commitment to safety and efficiency.”

Enterprise Ireland’s head of engineering and construction services in New York, Simon Barcoe, said: ‘This is a highly significant contract for ATSR and signals a major achievement for them in building a market presence in the US.”
