Welcome aboard! Comms-care operations manager Mark Forster, centre, with engineer recruits Gareth Dewhurst and Greg Lumsdon

Comms-care, the support services specialist, has recruiting six network engineers to its support team, bucking the current trend of industry wide job losses.

The firm says the hirings are a response to demand for its IT support services in the wake of the economic downturn, which has put pressure on resellers to form trusted partnerships with channel-only support providers. Comms-care points out that these resellers may have once looked at providing some of the services themselves but, with job cuts now leaving fewer personnel available with the necessary technical skills, these firms have been forced to outsource more of their IT support capabilities.

The newly recruited engineers have been integrated into the Comms-care support team and are already involved in engineering projects, network maintenance and bespoke installations.

Comms-care ops manager Mark Forster notes: “Our support teams are seeing particular heavy demand for support from our channel partners. We have also noticed an increase in requests for our Advanced Technology Services as organisations look to integrate latest technologies to assist them in reducing their operational overheads.”
