NetPolicy Quality of Service (QoS) management software from Allot now includes a Virtual Bandwidth Monitoring utility that enables subscribers to securely monitor their own bandwidth utilisation without installing any networking equipment.
A new reporting tool allows administrators to create high-level reports on employee usage of the Internet, Websites employees are visiting, link utilisation, busiest users and servers, applications running and the bandwidth consumption by each application. It also offers reports on overall application performance and network usage.
Network professionals can produce high-level graphical and tabular reports with NetPolicy, and it enables administrators to account for each IP traffic session so that there is no need to predefine rules. The database can be installed on a Windows 2000 server, and collects data from multiple NetEnforcers configured with the optional NetAccountant software.
NetPolicy’s new Virtual Bandwidth Monitoring module allows ISPs to offer their subscribers the ability to view their own hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly bandwidth consumption. Without any equipment installed on-site, subscribers can use the Web to monitor usage of their most critical resource – the WAN link. This allows ISPs to increase their value proposition and provides an additional source of revenue.
