ISA reveals Sofware Awards shortlist

The Irish Software Association (ISA) has released the shortlist of 26 indigenous technology companies that are competing for the title of digital technology company of the year at the Irish Software Awards on 20 November.

Five companies have been shortlisted for ISA Digital Technology Company of the Year: Fenergo, Asavie, Qstream, Globoforce, and Ocuco with these Irish companies employing over 850 people.

The emerging company of the year category, sponsored by William Fry, will be contested by Sedicii, Bizimply.com, InvoiceFair, SilverCloud Health, The Hire Lab and Beats Medical.

Each of the shortlisted companied will present to eight independent panels of judges composed of CEOs and founders of successful Irish software and digital technology companies.

Other award categories include outstanding achievement in international growth (sponsored by Enterprise Ireland); technology innovation (sponsored by Bank of Ireland); technology services project (sponsored by Tenego Partnering); and excellence in talent development (sponsored by the ISA Software Skillnet).

The work of four academic institutions and researchers has also been recognised with the Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC); the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at DCU; the Irish Centre for Cloud Computing and Commerce (IC4); and Trinity College Dublin (TCD) all nominated for outstanding academic achievement of the year.

Director of the ISA Paul Sweetman said: “The software and digital technology sector in Ireland is thriving. Year-on-year, stellar companies are entering the Awards and 2015 is no exception. Nearly 70 tech companies and organisations from across Ireland entered this year’s awards and it is the tireless efforts of workers in these companies that bring Ireland to the fore of the global technology sector.”

The Irish Software Awards will be held at the Double Tree Hotel in Dublin. Automattic founder Matt Mullenweg will be keynote speaker.
