Helen Dixon appointed Data Protection Commissioner

Helen Dixon has been appointed Data Protection Commissioner.

Dixon is the former principal officer at Department of Enterprise, Trade and Innovation and will take up the post in the coming months.

With a career that included spells with IT multinationals, as well as other government departments, Dixon brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the data protection position, said a government spokesperson.

Dixon takes over from Billy Hawkes who retired earlier this year.
