Samsung has sold 10 million Galaxy S smartphones globally since sales began last June, the company said yesterday.

Samsung’s Galaxy S phones run the Android operating system, are equipped with 1GHz processors, and most feature bright 4″ Super AMOLED displays, placing them among the most powerful and versatile of the many smartphone models in a crowded market.

Samsung said it has consistently sold 1.4 million Galaxy S devices worldwide each month since they went on sale.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, a 7″ touch screen tablet, sold 1 million units worldwide as of early December, Samsung reported.
