Retail network performance and security specialist Fastcom has announced 25 new jobs as a result of a €1.2 million investment.

The jobs will come online over the next three years as the company expands its capabilities in network engineering and customer support in its new Sligo network operations and security centre.

The company said the growth is being financed through private and director investment.

As well as expanding its operations in Ireland and the UK, Fastcom currently has business prospects in Singapore, Holland and Belgium.

“Fastcom is a rapidly-growing business,” said Ross Palmer, managing director, Fastcom, “and we need additional staff to support our business activities. This investment will allow us to serve existing and prospective customers even better as we continue to develop our software and invest in our staff.

“Fastcom is unique in Ireland; no one else is doing what we do. By pulling a company’s whole network together and looking at its IT holistically, we can diagnose problems quickly and reduce callouts from IT service people by 50%. We strive to make IT people more productive and actively help them identify areas for improvement to boost business performance.

“As business owners become increasingly aware of the risk posed by data breaches and malware, that service is crucial. Companies simply cannot afford the downtime caused by technical glitches — or the bad press that follows. What we offer businesses is insurance and peace of mind.”
