EMC Corporation has launched an entry-level networked storage system. The CLARiiON AX4 is designed for business of all sizes and, say the makers, it can be easily tailored and deployed with VMware infrastructure and a wide range of applications.
As organisations seek to simplify their IT environments and maximise value from their storage investments, iSCSI is becoming increasingly popular and, the maker claims, is especially important in VMware environments where new virtual servers require consolidated storage.
The AX4 has a capacity of to 60 TB, and can quickly and easily scale up to 60 drives to meet expanding storage needs. Connectivity options include iSCSI or high-bandwidth fibre channel options together with the ability to mix high-performance SAS drives and low-cost, high-capacity SATA drives to meet a broad range of requirements.
Advanced features include capabilities for operational recovery, disaster recovery, and multi-array management, and the system is VMware certified.
The AX4 system is available through Irish EMC distributor Commtech.
