EMC has announced that it has expanded its Proven Professional training and certification programme. The course, which provides customers and partners with specialised skills needed to position, design, install, configure, manage, and maintain a complex information storage environment, contains the same content, exam and certified status as that given to EMC technical personnel.

The EMC Proven Professional programme has been enhanced to provide even more focused customer and partner training courses with a greater number of sales and technical roles. The curriculum offers four certification paths to customise learning needs: storage administrator, technology architect, customer engineer and implementation engineer. Two pre-sales accreditation tracks are also available for reseller partners.

With more than 45 instructor-led and 75 e-learning titles, the courses enable customers and partners to specialise in relevant subjects for certification and accreditation including business continuity, storage areas networks (SANs), network attached storage (NAS) and storage management.

Tom Houston, channel manager, EMC Ireland comments: ‘We have
taken the Proven Professional training under the umbrella of the Velocity Partner Program and in Ireland we already have eight EMC sales and four pre-sales Proven Professionals. We have had an encouraging response from our resellers and customers and already have commitment from our partners to invest further in gaining additional elements and specialisations of the Proven Professional training. The next phase is to roll this out to the end users – those looking after storage within their organisations.  You can expect further announcements over the coming weeks regarding customer training in Ireland that will enable end users to become certified as for example, an EMC certified storage administrator, etc’.
