Data Solutions will host the annual Secure Computing Forum on 13 March at the Gibson Hotel, Dublin. The event will bring together international speakers and industry experts in what has become one of the largest IT security events in Ireland.

A range of experts from home and abroad will participate in panel discussions to explore if improved protection against hackers comes at the cost of privacy.

One of the speakers taking part in this debate will be Dr Ciarán Mc Mahon, research and development coordinator at the CyberPsychology Research Centre in the Institute of Leadership. His recent work into the areas of social media, political campaigning and cyberbullying have attracted international interest. Ciarán brings a unique theoretical and philosophical overview of cyberpsychology.

Among the keynote speakers at this year’s Secure Computing Forum will be Lieutenant Colonel William Hagestad II, US Marine Corps (RET) who advises international intelligence organisations, military flag officers, and multi-national organisations in relation to their internal IT security governance and external security policies.

Michael Schrenk, will provide the second of the keynote presentations. Schrenk has worked around the world for clients ranging from Governments and Eastern European banks to Disney and the BBC. He is also a frequent speaker at the DEFCON hacking conference.

Other speakers will include Keith Bird, MD of Check Point Software Technologies, UK and Ireland and Amar Singh, chair of the ISACA’s Security Group.
