Targeting users who want the flexibility of a mobile phone at the cost of a fixed line within the workplace, eircom has launched two new cordless phones. The eircom 4012 and the 4012 Micro offer a wireless connection from a base station, a 200 strong name and number directory, handsfree/speaker options, caller display time, date and alarm, an illuminating keypad, a walkie-talkie feature and the ability to send SMS text messages from the phone.
Offering tangible business benefits, users can take calls up to 300 metres from the base station. Users don’t have been chained to their desk to take customer calls. Free internal calls can also be made within a building with one of the handsets. On average, users are now able to answer calls within three rings instead of the average nine usually taken to return to and answer a fixed landline phone. This significantly reduces the likelihood of the call being missed, thereby saving the cost of returning calls unnecessarily.
The Micro version of the 4012 (measuring 11 x 4cm) also offers a vibrate that alerts the user to an incoming call in areas of great noise. With caller ID, the 4012 wireless phones also offer stand-by talktime of 150 hours before they need to be recharged.
