Packard Bell has launched a Centrino-powered notebook for consumers. Centrino is a new chipset, processor and wireless module in one that is designed by Intel to offer mobile users lighter notebooks. Weighing in at 1.95Kg, the Packard Bell EasyNote T Series is an ultra slim, thin and light notebook with a 14-inch screen featuring the new mobile technology. The Packard Bell EasyNote T Series features 256Mbyte of DDR SDRAM, and can support up to 1Gbyte of memory on two SO-DIMM slots. It also sports an ultra slim combo DVD/CD RW drive and up to 60Gbyte in hard disk sizes.

The company has also launched the EasyNote E Series consumer notebook range. Aimed at first time notebook buyers, business users on a shoestring and students, the EasyNote E Series starts by offering a slim and lightweight notebook with a large 15 inch TFT display, a built-in DVD RW Combo drive and a 4-in-1 multi card reader.

Powered by AMD Athlon XP-M processors, the Packard Bell EasyNote E Series also offers integrated FireWire port and USB 2.0 ports, which are easily accessible on the front and side of the notebook. Integrated DVD RW drives allow users to burn instant copies of their home movies, directly onto a DVD disk for playback on the notebook or a home DVD player, or to back up personal data for future reference. Pictures, music and other data can be transferred by using the 4-in-1 multi-card reader compatible with SD, Memory Stick, Multimedia Card, and Smart Media portable disks. Prices for the EasyNote T Series and the EasyNote E Series begin at EUR1799 and EUR2099 respectively.</p>
