Network management company enet and Airspeed Telecom have announced the launch of a new Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) serving Clifden in West Galway.
Clifden is the latest County Galway town to be activated to the MAN, with the others being Athenry, Ballinasloe, Gort, Loughrea, as well as Galway City.
The network, managed by enet, has already partnered with two telecoms companies, including AirSpeed Telecom, to bring network services to end users.
Martina Moloney, county manager, Galway County Council, said: "The activation of the Clifden MAN is a significant occasion for the development of the town, as well as the wider West Galway region. The availability of high capacity broadband will give the town a level playing field when it comes to securing investment and job creation."
