Canon’s iR1200 series of multifunctional digital printer/copiers, the iR1210, iR1230 and iR1270F, are aimed at small office workgroups and home office environments.
The iR1200 series allows customers to choose from three models, which offer different function combinations. All three devices have virtually no ‘warm-up’ time, meaning users will be able to copy and print economically and up to a fast 12 copies per minute at 1200 x 600 dpi (enhanced) copy resolution.
The units have a memory copying function that scans original documents once and can then copy up to 99 pages. The devices are also equipped with toner refill technology to ensure that copies are made as economically as possible.
The devices also come with 2-to-1 copying, a feature that lets users scan two original documents which can then be copied on to a single-sided A4 page. In addition, the electronic collating function sorts documents directly after copying.
With the addition of an optional network adapter — the compact AXIS 1610 Printer Server — the iR1210, iR1230 and iR1270F can all be networked for small user groups.
The iR1230 comes with an automatic document feeder (ADF) that lets users load up to 30 original documents in the feeder and the device will copy them and put them back in order for the user.
The iR1270F is a flatbed device that offers digital copying, laser printing, ADF and fax. The unit also comes with a 33.6kbit/s Super G3 fax, which allows a transmission speed of 3s per A4 page.
The fax function has a 255-page memory so that no pages are lost if toner runs out.
All devices have a 250-sheet paper cassette and 100 sheet stack bypass paper supply, which ensure fast and efficient copying and printing for the devices. The stack bypass enables users to copy documents onto various media such as transparencies.
