The software is an optical disc recording providing Mac users with the ability to store as much as 50Gb of data on a recordable or rewritable Blu-ray disc. The first drives to feature Toast 7 with BD support in the next few months.
Toast’s Blu-ray Disc features include Toast Dynamic Writing, which enables users to record files simply by dragging and dropping files onto a disc in the same way they would move or copy files to a removable storage device.
In addition to its Blu-ray capabilities, which allow for CD and DVD burning, Toast 7 runs on both Intel-based and PowerPC-based systems. Sonic believe that the high definition resolution due to Blu-ray gives it greater quality and this is why they working within the film industry in Hollywood.
