Wi-Fi service provider Bitbuzz has won a three-year contract to put its wireless technology in all 150 bedrooms and in the public areas of the Ibis Dublin West Hotel.
The Ibis, part of the Accor Hotel Group, gets a lot of business traffic. With heavy demand for the hotel’s former limited Wi-Fi service, it was decided to upgraded to Bitbuzz.
Ibis general manager Philippe Rousseau said the hotel had recently spent over a million euro on renovations. “Wi-Fi is a particular requirement for many of our customers, and we are impressed at the very high quality of the Bitbuzz Wi-Fi service, which has proven far more reliable than the previous system.”
Bitbuzz MD Shane Deasy noted: “This has been a significant contract win for Bitbuzz. We have seen an extremely high level of usage since our service went live.” He said this showed that, even during tough economic times, people still demand fast, reliable internet access.
Previous Bitbuzz contract wins in the hospitality sector include the Travelodge Hotel Group and the Radisson Hotel in Galway.
