Barracuda Networks, a provider of enterprise class spam firewalls has extended its channel representation by appointing Commtech as its exclusive distributor in Ireland and signing up PlanNet21 Communications as a Gold Reseller.
Commtech intends to sign up further Barracuda-accredited resellers from its large base of VARs, system integrators, ISPs and specialist security consultancies across Ireland.
The Barracuda Spam Firewall is available in four models and can process more than 25m messages a day.It can be installed in front of the e-mail server in less than five minutes and is automatically updated hourly to block new forms of spam and viruses.

The Barracuda Spam Firewall also protects against phishing schemes, using proprietary anti-spoofing features as well as support for Sender ID Framework. Barracuda Networks also offers the Energize Update subscription service to automatically update the Barracuda Spam Firewall with the latest spam rules and virus definitions.
