Robotory takes its cue from classic platform games

Mech Factory

Seeing as we have teams from the US and Japan readying the first mech-on-mech battle for next year you may as well bone up on the fiction behind the fact. Mech Factory is a resource for all things Battletech, a board game that came to prominence in the 90s. The app has loads of information of robot classes, history and other background information. Note this is not a game, just a guide to the hardware.

Irish Design 2015

Designed in association with IBM the official Irish Design 2015 app has plenty of information about the role of design in business, art and even food. The user is presented with information on places to stay, eat, visit and shop, each with information on how design informs what they do.

Robotory
For: iOS, Android
Developed by Galway company 9th Impact, this platform game takes its inspiration from classic platform games on the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64. Here the player takes on the role of a robot tasked with jump from one platform to another, dodging obstacles and collecting golden nuts that act as currency so you can resurrect your robot should the worst happen.
