A new specialist product distribution and support company, NextGen Technologies, was recently launched and immediately announced exclusive vendor partnerships focused on IP enhancement technologies.

Located in Citywest Business Park, the company was formed to identify and introduce to the Irish marketplace a product set from some of the biggest names in IP traffic optimisation, security and acceleration. To date the company has signed vendor agreements with Expand Networks, Tacit Networks, Extreme Networks, Network Physics and Triple Play. Resellers are assured access to highly differentiated solutions with a higher than normal level of sales and technical support.

Former sales and technical directors for leading Irish communications company DCM will head the new company. Gerry Sheldrick and Tom Mullen bring to NextGen extensive industry knowledge and strong channel relationships. The company will initially employ ten people and already has €5 million worth of orders on its books. Channel partners already enrolled include IBM, Siemens, HP, Intertech, Comsys, TechNiche and CK Business Solutions.

“By forming NextGen we have a highly efficient means of servicing a very important part of our customer base. We anticipate that NextGen will generate revenues of €6 million in its first year and will become the distributor of choice for resellers and systems integrators throughout Ireland,” said Gerry sheldrick.
