Zeeko an Irish start-up based at NovaUCD, today announced the successful completion of a crowdfunding campaign after only three days.

The €5,000 raised will enable Zeeko to publish the its Internet Safety Guide and put a digital copy into every primary school in Ireland.

The Zeeko Internet Safety Guide provides advice on how parents, teachers, and others can protect children online. The guide advocates an open communication between parents and children, and provides specific suggestions on how to manage this.

Set-up in 2013 by entrepreneur Joe Kenny, Zeeko works to educate parents and teachers to how to keep children safe online.

“While our fundraising target was a nominal €5,000, that we have achieved our goal in three days, is indicative of the demand from parents and educators for information in this area,” said Kenny.

“In 2016, we will be continuing our programme of in-school education seminars for parents as well as updating the Digital Trend Report which we also launched earlier this week. We would like to thank all of those who contributed to our crowdfunding campaign.”
