Rising star Majella Murphy, the talented singer-songwriter who successfully launched her debut album “Brave New World” on a mobile phone recently took on the best Irish console gamers in an Xbox Live ‘Game with Fame’ on Thursday, August 31st.
At the event, Xbox Live members and music fans were abale to play and chat exclusively with keen gamer Majella while she played one of the most popular multiplayer games on Xbox Live – Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (GRAW).
Majella played champion gamer GRAW on Xbox 360 in the Xbox Live Gaming Centre in South William Street however Xbox Live members can play from home.
Majella is no stranger to technology – She is the first artist in the world to launch an entire album exclusively on a mobile phone. Majella Murphy, who hails from Kilkenny, preloaded her new album “Brave New World” on the Sony Ericsson Z530i available exclusively from O2 Ireland.
Independent artist Majella Murphy was first recognised in Dublin two years ago when she started playing the live music circuit. Majella, who writes and arranges her own songs as well as playing guitar and harmonica, travelled to America to record her album with legendary producer Nathan Crowe (Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Meat Loaf, Brian May and Grammy award winning rap artist Bizzy Bre) and Eric Rosse, who produced both of Tori Amos’ Grammy nominated albums. The result is the stunning debut album ‘Brave New World’ which includes three live acoustic tracks and will be available on Itunes and on CD from record stores from September 22nd.
Majella has just released her second single “Lunchtime”, a lovely, poignant, modern love song which shows off Majella’s pure yet powerful voice at its best, the song has gone straight on to radio playlists around the country. Lunchtime is currently exclusively available as a free download from Majella’s website.
