LG 105″ curved screen Ultra HD TV

LG 105" curved screen TVForget 4K, LG’s latest 105″ curved screen TV comes in what they’re calling 5K due to its higher number of vertical pixels over the current ultra HD standard of choice. (That’s 5120×2160 versus 3840×2160 pixels).
Samsung are already in the curved TV space, so it’s no surprise to see LG follow suit. Also like Samsung’s offering, this won’t be troubling the high street just yet.

Microsoft Shark’s Cove

Shark's CoveHoping to show that Windows can run on just about anything, Microsoft has teamed with Intel and product manufacturer CircuitCo to announce a Windows-compatible development board, which is now available for pre-order, as ArsTechnica first reported.

Dubbed the Sharks Cove, the 4″x6″ PC features a Bay Trail 1.33GHz Intel Atom processor with integrated graphics, 1Gb of RAM, 16Gb onboard storage, a microSD slot, HDMI, a MIPI connector, a single USB 2.0 port, and a micro-USB port for power.

There’s no Ethernet or Wi-Fi card onboard, so you’ll need to use USB adapters to connect the board to the Internet or any other network.

The kicker is the $300 price tag, almost ten times more than its main competitor: Raspberry Pi.

Lenovo smart glasses

Lenovo NBD smart glassesLenovo showed off a set of smart glasses as part of a push to attract developers and other hardware manufacturers to its NBD platform.

The NBD platform, which in Chinese stands for “new bench,” can offer funding, manufacturing, hardware research and other logistical support to partners. It’s currently geared for the Chinese market, but Lenovo could use it to jumpstart products for international distribution.

No further word on pricing or functionality but it’s safe to say it’s not quite market-ready yet.
