Surface Docking Station

In case you haven’t noticed, the latest versions of Microsoft’s Surface and Surface Pro tablets have just hit the shelves. Our opinions on both have been well documented on our podcast so we won’t go into minutiae of what’s hot and not about them – suffice to say our position hasn’t changed. What we’ve been missing from our Pro is a decent docking station to give it more of a full fat PC experience.
The ‘official’ version from Microsoft comes with one USB 3.0 port and three USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, 3.5mm audio jack, mini DisplayPort connections and weighs 650 grams.
Ideally we’d like a keyboard and mouse to come with, and for it to be released this side of Christmas. It looks like neither of those will come to pass. However, it will work with both the Pro and RT.

Panasonic SC-HTE80 Speaker Board

If you own a flatscreen TV then you probably have some kind of home cinema system to give the sound some extra punch. If you don’t fancy rewiring your living room with 5.1 speakers then a sound bar is a more space-friendly alternative.
The SC-HTE80 Speaker Board has two integrated sub-woofers with H.Bass sound processing technology, designed to reproduce a deep, robust bass that your TV’s internal speakers try (and fail) to create. Designed for TVs 42" and greater.

Price: €299
