Sony’s VAIO E Series 11 budget laptop should find an audience with second or third level students looking for a PC to cover low intensity applications.
Featuring an 11″ screen, the Series 11 comes with an AMD Dual-Core E2-Series APU for Notebooks with AMD Radeon HD 7340 Graphics. HD webcam, xLOUD and Clear Phase technologies from Sony boost speaker volume without distortion for rich, natural sounding multimedia playback.

Huawei Ascend G 300
Huawei would be familiar to Irish consumers for its line of of 3G dongles and the Ascend G 300 represents its arrival in the smartphone space over here.
The Ascend G 300 has a 4″ screen and runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system (upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich later this year) featuring Huawei’s own Android platform, allowing one-step access to applications from the unlock screen.
The Ascend G 300 combines a large 4″ WVGA capacitive touchscreen, a 1GHz processor and a durable 1500mAh battery life. Also on board are a 5MP camera with autofocus, flash and 4x digital zoom, and 2Gb internal storage.
