Teacher’s pet projector

Two Epson projectors are ideal for use in small meeting rooms and classrooms. They can project a 60″ picture onto a wall or screen just 65cm (25.5″) from the lens, according to the makers. The EMP-400W is aimed at corporate presentations while the EMP400We is an education version that ioncludes a wall mounting bracket and 4-year warranty.

The e model is designed so that teachers and students can write on an interactive whiteboard without blocking the projector’s beam. In recognition of the fact that security is often a concern in educational establishments, the e model requires a password to make it work.

Both models feature Epson’s Twin Optimised Reflecting Lamp (E-TORL) for energy efficiency.
If permanently installed, both models can be networked. A web browser generates e-mails that include temperature warnings and reminders when air filters or lamps need changing. The system can even be set to send alerts to equipment purchasers for timely action.

Both offer native WXGA resolution at 1280 x 800, following the widescreen trend in PCs. This format is ideal for school children unable to reach the screen’s top. A built-in 10W speaker obviates the need for external speakers.
RRP: €1,320 ex VAT. More info: Jamie Good, (01)-6607395.
