Pop music fans can now lip-synch their own voices into popular music videos, play back the results and then send them off by e-mail to friends and family.
Revoice Studio’s VideoHIT includes a variety of music videos from top artists, including Sugababes, Daniel Bedingfield and Girls Aloud. The user follows the words on the screen to sing along to the video; VideoHIT will record and synchronise their voice to match. They can then use the software to manipulate their own voice and add effects to improve the performance.
VideoHIT is based on two professional audio programs developed by Dr Jeff Bloom at Synchro Arts for the professional voice editing industry. ‘Titan’ reduces the time spent making sync adjustments, and ‘VocAlign’ is an editing tool that synchronises two audio signals at the touch of a button. Users benefit from quick, high-quality audio synchronisation. The ReVoice Studio VideoHIT program runs mainly from the CD ROM, with users saving only their recordings or rehearsals to the hard drive. Once they are happy with the recording, they can delete all previous files. A single file uses under 100Mbyte.
The product is aimed at all PC users with an interest in popular music. ReVoice Studio VideoHIT comes with a bundled microphone and requires Direct X 8.1. System requirements include Windows 9x, a Pentium II processor 450MHz processor; at least 100Mbyte of free space on the hard drive, a sound card and external speakers. It retails for €29.99.
