SoftwareOne invests €16m in Irish operation

SoftwareOne has today announced a major expansion of its Irish operations, creating 100 new jobs in a move that will increase its workforce across Ireland tenfold over the next three years.

The expansion is part of a €16 million investment plan, supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation through IDA Ireland.

Established in 1985 and globally headquartered in Switzerland, SoftwareOne has over 30 years’ experience in software licensing with a local presence in more than 80 countries, employing 3,000 and serving 25,000 clients.

SoftwareOne opened its first Irish office in Mahon, Co. Cork in 2011 and is now expanding with the opening of a new office in Blanchardstown, where the majority of the new positions will be based.

Making today’s announcement, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation Mary Mitchell O’Connor said: “Today’s announcement that SoftwareOne is creating 100 new jobs is great news for the country. We are all aware that Cloud Computing is a huge growth area and this company is at the cutting edge of this exciting development. SoftwareOne’s expansion builds on our success in developing a thriving software sector in Ireland over recent years following our investment in developing appropriate skills. All jobs created have a positive knock on effect for the wider community.”

Mike Gersten, SoftwareOne global innovations and platforms officer, added: “This is a very exciting time in SoftwareOne’s journey. We are a global leader when it comes to software licensing and now we have developed an innovative solution which offers seamless control of cloud solutions and services to our customers.”
