Northern Irish vendor Singularity has won a significant NHS contract with Tyne and Wear in the north-east of England. Singularity specialises in business process management software.

The contract, with NHS South of Tyne and Wear, calls for the re-engineering of key business processes as part of an NHS programme of operational improvements.

The authority will initially use Singularity’s BPM technology to redesign and automate processes used for recruiting staff, later extending to a system for GP appraisal and other processes.

Singularity CEO Padraig Canavan noted said the firm sees “continued opportunity to support the UK health sector’s drive to better services.”
