System Dynamics has completed the rollout of three applications from software maker Oracle at Irish hotel operator Tifco Group. They are Oracle Financials, Purchasing and i-Procurement. Tifco operates six hotels in Ireland, including the Crowne Plaza Hotels chain and the Clontarf Castle Hotel in Dublin.
System Dynamics, an Oracle partner, used the software maker’s Business Accelerator to deliver a tailored E-Business Suite implementation which was rolled out over five months. The solution gives Tifco real time financial information about purchasing and inventory management across each of its hotels.
System Dynamics says the setup allows scalability and flexibility as more hotels come on stream. It provides more control of expenditure across all its cost functions while simplifying and centralising its key accounting functions to achieve greater efficiencies and costs savings.
Tifco’s financial director, John O’Conner, noted: “In the present economic climate, managing costs has become critical to Tifco as it expands its portfolio of hotels.” He said the solution gives management the drill-down capability to analyse the cost of every item, from food supplies to courtesy coaches. “We can now use information in terms of volumes and costs of goods and services purchased to ensure the best prices are negotiated with our various suppliers.”
