A Dublin-based start-up is looking to put a novel spin on the humble postcard. Launched last week, Sendmypostcards.com enables a user to create and edit personalised postcards online.

POstcard images can be selected from users’ Facebook and flickr accounts, or from cameras, phones, PCs, or the company’s gallery of 15,000 images collected through partnerships with Lonely Planet and local photography talent. The service costs €1.79 for printing and postage per card.

Sendmypostcards.com also includes a ‘copy card’ feature, which enables quick replication of the same card for sending to many recipients.

The company is aiming to create over 10 jobs in the coming 18 months. A version for smartphones is to be released later this year.

Consumer quality director Caroline Mac Aodha said: “With this service, we are bringing the postcard bang into the 21st century… We hope to make sending postcards easier and more fun.”
