Dublin-based mobility service provider Asavie Technologies, in partnership with Orange, is set to leave its footprint on the remote Indian Ocean island of Reunion. The deal sees Orange incorporating AccessMyLan, a hosted VPN service for secure remote access, developed by Asavie, for its Mon Access Securise (My Secure Access) solution.
The SMA solution allows the secure exchange of information between users of remote PCs and mobile devices with their corporate LANs, and will be sold within Orange’s Business Everywhere suite to simplify connectivity over mobile networks, including 3G, Edge, GPRS and WiFi.
The solution will initially be sold in Reunion, a tiny French territory off the Indian Ocean island of Madagascar, where it will meet demand for secure remote access. Targeted users are SMEs and companies looking for an integrated solution from a unique supplier.
Asavie Technologies CEO Ralph Shaw sees the partnership with Orange Reunion as “a massive step forward for our company”. He said: “It is the initial deployment in the France Telecom Group, and shows that we are now capable of servicing our clients’ needs in locations around the world”.
Asavie Technologies develops and markets AccessMyLan, a carrier grade hosted secure remote access VPN.
Orange is France Telecom’s key brand. FT serves over 172 million customers, of whom two thirds are Orange customers. The Group has 111.9 million mobile customers and 12 million broadband internet (ADSL) customers.
