Scottish Power switches on to climote

Louth-based home automation technology company climote has penned a deal with with ScottishPower, to deliver a ‘white label’ version of its smart thermostat.

The climote device enables consumers to control their home heating remotely over the Web, by mobile app or via SMS.

One of the six biggest energy providers in the UK, Scottish Power will sell climote devices under the ‘Connect’ brand to its 5.6 million customers.

Eamon Conway, managing director of climote, said: “It is testament to the strength of our business proposition that one of the six biggest energy companies in the UK has selected us as a strategic connected homes partner. By teaming up with a utility giant such as ScottishPower, we are confident we can play a major role in revolutionising the UK’s heating efficiency and hope that it will be a long and productive partnership.”
