Technology firms Sage, Hp and Microsoft have entered into a partnership in order to provide small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) with recession battling resources. The partnership will offer dedicated network servers, high performance operating systems and a leading accounts package to Irish SMEs for €1199 ex. VAT. The trio will also include in the price two hours on-site expertise through the HP Business Partner Channel.

Robin Johnston, business manager at Sage stated that, “this initiative will allow customers to secure their accounts, customer and balance information through a dedicated network source.” The offer from the unique partnership is facilitated through 12 HP business partners throughout the country providing complete coverage.

The main benefits of the package are the speed, reliability and security that the package offers. The initiative has been designed for small businesses running either peer to peer networks, no networks at all or are using a simple PC for data storage. It is a common problem among SMEs that they often do not take the necessary precautions to protect their data and their customers’ data, opening themselves up to security threats. The package will allow such SMEs to secure their accounts, customer and balance information through a dedicated network source at a recession friendly price. For complete security backups of company data can be taken on the network storage device and stored safely off-site.

Channel manger at HP, Ciaran Hynes said, “SMEs have put off investing in their IT infrastructure over the last couple of years as they have seen it as an additional cost.” He added that, “they have never had an offering of this kind before which will allow them to back up their data, be secure and control their IT costs, all in one bundle.”
