The chairman of the Revenue Commissioners, Josephine Feehily, accepted the BS 25999 business continuity management certificate at Dublin Castle which was awarded by Certification Europe.
BS 25999 certification is a globally recognised business continuity standard which is being awarded for Revenue’s ICT & L Division.
Revenue is the first public body in Ireland to achieve the standard, which complements the ISO 27001 Information Security Standard which Revenue achieved at the beginning of 2010.
The standard is independently audited and sets requirements in areas such as business continuity management organisation, definition of critical services, business impact analysis, risk assessment, contingency options and recovery strategies, incident control, documenting and exercising of recovery plans and education and training.
