With the first quarter just ended, we took the opportunity to ask a number of resellers for their impressions of the year to date and what they thought the rest of the 2011 might bring.

Six months after joining PFH with the acquisition of Redstone Technology in October last year, Van Esbeck has been made managing director of PFH Technology as former incumbent Paul Hourican takes on the role of group CEO.

“We’ve had a fantastic start to the year across both what was the Redstone business and the PFH Technology business,” Van Esbeck told Irish Computer, citing several major wins, including a total IT infrastructure refresh with a leading personal insurance company, an infrastructure managed service for a government agency and a large storage/server deal with a private sector customer.

The growing involvement of customer CFOs or finance directors in the IT purchasing process is leading to an “increased requirement for our service and solution proposals to make real sense in terms of delivering against our customers’ business or organisational objectives. We welcome this approach because it moves the discussion away from bits and bytes onto the real value of ICT services and systems and plays to our strengths.”
