CareerBuilder + Monster, once one of the largest companies in the online recruitment industry, filed for bankruptcy protection on Tuesday.

The company plans to sell off parts and liquidate what remains, according to news agency Reuters.

No statement has yet been published on the portals’ websites, but company leadership told the news agency that “the macroeconomic environment is uncertain and challenging.”
