Sky Television and Nevada tele.com are planning to give Sky Digital’s Irish customersa range of new online interactive services, which include e-mail, games, betting, voting and interactive advertising. Sky is also thinking about including home shopping, banking and financial services in its online interactive content in the future.
Nevada tele.com will provide telecoms services to allow Sky’s 193,000 Irish subscribers to go online via the set-top box, which is connected to the standard fixed-line home telephone line.
Until now, Sky’s Irish viewers have been able to access only those interactive services that are accessible via the broadcast stream, such as Sky Sports Active’s enhanced soccer and rugby coverage and Sky News Active.
