Polycom’s HDX video conferencing systems starred in a recent showcase at Dublin’s Red Cow Hotel. The event, attended by 21 firms representing Ireland’s providers of business communications solutions, marked the release of the HDX 7000 series.
Polycom’s Chantal Smith, EMEA product marketing manager, said the HDX video conferencing systems include High Definition video, HD voice and simultaneous HD multimedia content-sharing capabilities.
A feature of the new system is Polycom’s Lost Packet Recovery (LPR) technology, which claims to maximise the quality of video, voice and content under the lower quality network conditions common to public IP networks, where packet loss and congestion are common.
Sean Holohan, MD of Polycom’s sole Irish distributor, Videnda, commented: “With the introduction of LPR technology we are seeing virtually error-free video over any IP network.”
