PFH Technology Group has invested €1.2 million in the establishment of a dedicated cloud, virtualisation and enterprise systems management centre in Sandyford, Dublin. The centre was opened by Minister for Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation, Richard Bruton, TD, will create up to 20 jobs over the next three years.

The centre is designed to provide users from across large corporate, government, health and education organisations with the ability to gain hands on experience with the current and next generation of virtualisation and cloud technologies. The centre will be able to model the organisations’ systems to show the savings and efficiencies that can be made through the implementation of new technologies, through real world scenarios, while demonstrating systems management capabilities. The emphasis is firmly on experience and interaction to ensure that organisations gain a thorough understanding of the specific benefits.

“Last week,” said Minister Bruton at the launch, “I announced the establishment by Government of a €5 million applied research centre in cloud computing to ensure that Ireland can become a world leader in this sector, which according to Microsoft could create 8,500 jobs and be worth €9.5 billion per annum to the Irish economy by 2014. Today, I am delighted to launch this cutting edge technology experience centre which represents another step towards ensuring that we realise that ambition.”
