Panda reaches into Ireland

Formjet plc is opening offices in Ireland, primarily to sell Panda security solutions, and has signed distribution deals with Asbis and Option Electronics. The move follows a change to Formjet’s contract with Panda International that extends its exclusive territory beyond the UK and into the Republic.

The two new partners are offering distinct roles in the distribution set-up, with Asbis delivering its expertise in distributing software throughout Ireland and Europe while Option will provide accommodation and warehousing to support the product ranges’ launch.

Formjet’s new office, in Dublin, will employ local Panda sales and technical support teams to focusing mainly on the corporate market. They will be fully supported by and linked to Formjet’s head office in Crawley for technical support, product knowledge, training and finance. The distributors will target the retail and consumer channels.

Formjet chairman Lyndon Chapman said this is “an important development in Formjet Group’s continuing expansion of cost-effective routes to market.”

He added: “Panda is Formjet’s original subsidiary, and this geographical expansion is extremely encouraging. The team at Option Electronics allows us to benefit from a tried, tested and well-connected sales force that is well respected in the local market. Asbis is also a key distribution outlet for us. We expect our presence in Ireland to develop even more productively in the coming months, when we will be launching the ASI Ability and Edalive ranges.”
