Nextag, a comparison shopping company and part of the Wize Commerce Shopping Network, will set up its new international headquarters in Drogheda with the creation of 125 jobs over the next five years.

The company currently operates web sites in nine countries around the world, in some of the fastest growing e-commerce markets. It is currently recruiting staff locally to work at the headquarters in Drogheda.

"Today’s announcement," said Fergus O’Dowd, Minister of State, "that Nextag Inc is establishing its international headquarters in Drogheda with the creation of a number of internet commerce related jobs is another vote of confidence for the area and great news for Ireland. With the support of the IDA, we are proving to be the perfect place for US-based technology companies to locate their International operations".

The investment is supported by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland.

"We have experienced tremendous growth in our International business in recent years, and our headquarters in Ireland will play a vital role in our future growth, not just in Europe, but throughout the rest of the world," said Derek Yung, SVP of Finance and Corporate Development, Nextag. "Locating in Drogheda provides us a great opportunity to recruit from the strong local talent base."

"Nextag Inc’s decision to set up its International Headquarters in Drogheda," said Barry O’Leary, CEO, IDA Ireland, "will help grow its brand internationally as the key resource for online consumers. Nextag Inc’s announcement is a further endorsement of IDA’s strategy ‘Horizon 2020′, to attract investment from the employment intensive services sector and for multinational businesses to internationalise from Ireland. This is excellent news for the entire North-East region which has the opportunity to benefit from this investment by Nextag."
