The ultra-portable 12-inch Portégé M300 from Toshiba comes with EasyGuard which provides enhanced data security, advanced system protection and easy connectivity. Weighting just 1.59kg, the notebook has extended battery operating times of up to six hours, and up to 11 hours an optional high-capacity battery.
The Portégé M300 is powered by Intel Centrino mobile technology. It has been equipped with a number of connectivity options, including wireless LAN 802.11b/g, Bluetooth, Ethernet LAN, i.LINK port, three USB ports, Fast InfraRed and modem.
The notebook is provisioned, through Toshiba EasyGuard, with an integrated shock protection system that includes shock absorbers built into the chassis to protect key system components and data in the event of a drop or fall. In addition, the notebook includes a hard disk drive protection system in which the hard drive is encased in shock absorbing materials and further protected by a 3D movement detection sensor. In the event of sudden movements the HDD changes from an active state to a non-active mode, ensuring the integrity of the drive platters and the data. Toshiba EasyGuard also incorporates a spill resistant keyboard into the Portégé M300 to prevent system damage from accidental spills onto the keyboard of up to 30cc of water.
In addition, Toshiba EasyGuard has made data protection on the Portégé M300 simple with strong password utilities providing password security to the system, HDD and BIOS. Device locks are also offered to prevent data from being copied onto removable devices.
The Portégé M300 comes equipped with integrated super-slim DVD Combo drive or DVD Super Multi drive enabling full multimedia playback, writing and copying to all CDs and DVDs. It also includes support for PC Card, CompactFlash and SD Cards for quick file share. With added Full Advanced Port Replicator (APR) III common docking support, integration into the office environment is also made a speedy and seamless process. Toshiba EasyGuard facilitates access to key components in the Portégé M300 within just three unscrews, reducing downtime when servicing is required.
