Irish start-up MyDealDoc has been named as one of three European regional finalists in the best start-up – tech innovation category at the 2016 Talent Unleashed awards.
The finalists were selected by a judging panel that included entrepreneur Richard Branson, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, and Facebook VP for Europe Nicola Mendelsohn.
Founded by former KPMG accountants Mike Morrissey and David Keenaghan in 2014, MyDealDoc is backed by Enterprise Ireland and has won a number of awards including best digital/online start-up at the Bank of Ireland Startup Awards in 2015.
MyDealDoc develops mobile apps which save consumers time and money and provide an advertising platform for retailers to push special offers to shoppers using location-aware technology.
The company’s two mobile apps, BabyDoc and TippleDoc, have been downloaded over 75,000 times.
Now in its fifth year, Talent Unleashed recognises outstanding startups and inspiring entrepreneurs dedicated to transforming business and the wider community through technological innovation.
The European regional finals will be held on 21 July in London. The European winners will then compete against regional winners from across Asia-Pacific at the global finals in Sydney, where Steve Wozniak will be present to provide direct feedback. The grand prize winners in each category will win one-on-one time with Steve Wozniak and a tour of Silicon Valley’s leading tech companies.
