EMC Ireland has announced that its long-standing reseller, EDS Memorex Telex, has been made an EMC Velocity Partner. Memorex has been an EMC reseller for the past seven years and has invested in the accreditation of three sales and two EMC pre-sales storage specialists over the past five months, with a commitment to accredit another two post sales technicians over the coming months.
EMC launched its highly successful Velocity Partner Program in the US in 2003, quickly followed by the UK. It has been actively rolling out the program in Ireland since January 2004. The Velocity Partner Program provides training, online pricing and partner development and is a way for local Irish companies to become EMC resellers, with a limited number becoming accredited Partners and Premier Partners.
John Murphy, sales director, EDS Memorex Ireland said the investment represented a recognition of the company’s success in selling EMC to large enterprise and medium sized organisations. ‘Traditionally we’ve always had a strong storage skills base. We have seen great success with the EMC Symmetrix range of products but now this investment will enable us to better address the mid range market with the CLARiiON product range and extensive storage management software solutions.’
