Expand‘s Packet Fragmentation offering, when combined with data-reduction algorithms to decrease latency induced by large data packets, enables Voice over IP (VoIP) to be installed on low speed networks.
Packet Fragmentation and Data Reduction allows VoIP packets to traverse the WAN with lower overhead and latency by reducing the size of data packets and assembling or fragmenting packets depending on the effective link speed and VoIP traffic profiles. Packet Fragmentation also stabilises latency and latency variation in order to optimise accelerator performance for VoIP.
